Geopier is Ground Improvement: The Design and Construction of Geopier Ground Improvement Solutions
The presentation will present an overview of Geopier systems, including the mechanics of ground improvement, improved bearing pressures, settlement control, support of floor slabs, load transfer to the Geopier systems, and construction methods. 1 PDH will be available for attendees.
The presentation will be given by Nathan Zaporski, P.E.
Presented By: Nathan Zaporski, P.E., Region Engineer, Michigan, Geopier
Speaker Bio
Nathan is the Region Engineer in Michigan for Geopier. In this role, he focuses on design of ground improvement systems, value engineering, business development, construction oversight, and project management. Prior to Geopier, Nathan spent 8 years in geotechnical engineering consulting. His consulting experience included hundreds of geotechnical investigations across the Midwest for commercial, industrial, telecommunications, infrastructure, energy, and trenchless utility projects. He has performed over 100 high-strain dynamic load tests and wave equation analyses for driven piles, driven pile design, drilled shaft and ACIP pile design and verification using CSL, PIT, and TIP; micropile design, static load testing, support of excavation design, and geotechnical instrumentation with an emphasis on vibration monitoring. He also has experience in project management, construction support/materials testing, specification development, laboratory compliance, forensic studies, thermal modeling of mass concrete, and multi-channel analysis of surface waves (MASW).
This course will award 1 hour of continuing education.
